Something a little bit different...

I've been making a real push to cook more at home...some of it is financial reasons, but mostly for fun!!! I hate when I'm trying to figure out what to make for dinner and I ask my hubby what he would like and his reply is "just cook something." I mean in a way, that's nice, it means I can make whatever I want, but in the same sense, I wouldn't ask him what I should make, if I knew....so before I went to the grocery store this past Sunday, I really looked in my cabinets, fridge and freezer...I clipped and printed my coupons and set out for the grocery store. I've always like to cook, but I'm an extremely picky eater, so cooking for me, can be somewhat boring, cooking for the hubby however, offers more opportunity to try new things...they don't have to be hard to cook things, just looking for something different and fun, a new spin on dinner if you will...so Monday, I tried my hand at making stuffed peppers. Daniel really liked them! :)

So instead of cutting the top off of the pepper, I had checked out a few things on pinterest and liked the idea of cutting into the side...so I started some mexican style rice and cut and scooped the first pepper...

Not too bad considering I've never done this before!!
 Yay!! :) Ready to go!
I had peppers that were big enough to use the "tops" also, so I did! I stuffed them with mexican style rice, some left over steak from eating out the other night, tomato, and onion...
...then topped it off with some hot pepper cheese...
I saved the seeds because we're doing a lot of gardening this year, and why not save some seeds for free!!
I put them in the oven and waited for the cheese to melt...
Daniel really liked them, but couldn't eat both of them, so we did save them, he ate the rest as leftovers the next day and said even reheated they were pretty good! Yay!

I like when I try something new like this and it really works out...this is going to be in our dinner food rotation...tonight I'm making steak! :)

I've also been working on a new boy's scrap blanket...actually I finished it last night, but I don't have a pic of it completed yet...

I've also started making granny square covers for my kitchen chairs! Only have one done so far, but hey, it's a work in progress!!!

Much Love.

WGI 2012

Well I have to say it felt good to be back home in Indiana!! I got to see so many people I haven't seen in so long, visit my beautiful college campus and visit with some professors, saw my McDonald's friends, all grown up!!! Surreal! :)

I left Nash early Tuesday morning last week and drove to Muncie...I stayed with my good friend Jaimie and her roommates Kassidi and Diana. This was the first time I've ever met Diana, but she goes to BSU, so that's cool! :) Saw Joni from McDonalds, went to the Circus with Julius and Maddie, Jaimie's nephew and Julia's little girl. I've never met this kids and that was so fun! :)

On Thursday my mom came and picked me up and we drove to Centerville, OH and stayed with her friend Dan. We went with Dan to a rehearsal for the Independence Guard, that was a lot of fun, just like old times! :)

Friday me and mom when shopping for a little bit in the morning, and then went to A class Finals in the evening. So much fun to be back in the world of the Sport of the Arts! I've missed it so much! :) Stayed up late talking with mom, finally fell asleep sometime probably going on 4 am.

Saturday we went Open and World Class finals, so this was an all day event, we did get a break for about 2.5 hours and went out to lunch/dinner with Rick, John, Dan, and me and mom. We all had the jack daniel's flat iron steak at tgif! :) If you're gonna sit with us, you gotta eat what we eat. lol.

Rick and John sat with us for World finals. There were some very good shows, but a lot of drops, a lot for World Championships...my favorite group from 10 years ago was there again this year Aimachi. They came all the way from Japan to compete in Dayton, OH. I also saw a group from the Netherlands and a few from Canada. It was a long day!!!

Got up on Sunday and got around and packed up the car...had on last meal with Dan and Jason and then I got to drive me and mom back from Ohio to Muncie. We stopped at the Warming Candle and I bought a few things for Daniel. Got back to Muncie and unloaded my mom's car right into my car. Had some dinner with Jaimie and passed out for the night.

Monday morning, grabbed what was left of my stuff from Jaimie's, (minus the atlas I forgot) and headed over to McDonald's to pick her up. I dropped her off at the dentist and then left Muncie, I stopped in Indy to have lunch with my friend Jen (also a BSU). Finally made it home last night around 6 o'clock to the arms of my Daniel. Sadie, literally knocked me down when I got home. I don't think she'll ever let me leave again! :)

12 Color Granny Square Blanket! :)

Well, it took about a week, but I finished one of the most difficult projects I've ever tackled!! I spent pretty much all day today putting the blanket together and getting rid of those crazy tails that had to be tucked in every which direction! I also didn't use nearly as much yarn as I thought I would....at least I know I can do a project like this rather quickly. I think if I worked nonstop--or close to it, I could make one of these in about 2 days...make the squares one day and put it together the next...but now that I've said that I'm sure I'll have to eat my words. lol. Here's the picts! :)

Each of the 4 different color blocks had 3 shades, I connect them together with the "middle color" of a different block to spread the color love!

Here's the shades of yellow....

Here's the shades of blue...

...and I did this one so I'd have a 4th set...

Since I used the "middle color" to put the individual squares together, I used the darkest color to put the big squares together, then I went around the entire blanket with the lightest colors...

Ta-da!

My hands hurt! Enjoy!!!

Much love.

Crazy Weekend!

Well, Saturday was The Big Stitch and it was definately a success!!! We estimated that we had around 350 people! The biggest turnout previous to that was 150!! Woo hoo!!!

Here's some pictures from The Big Stitch:

When I got home from The Big Stitch, Daniel was working on the office, this is what we got done!

On Sunday, we worked on finishing up the bedroom! It's really coming along! :)

All in all, it was a successful weekend! I've got a little bit more cleaning to get to today and then I'm going to go meet up with some of my girls at Panera in Brentwood tonight. I haven't gone to that group much lately and I saw a lot of those ladies at the Big Stitch and I really miss them! :)

Much Love. :)
