Pre-Cleanse!

I'm excited to report that I ordered my cleanse from AdvoCare yesterday. Daniel and I are going to do this together and I'm very excited about it. It's a 10 day process. I'm not sure what all the expect, but I know I'm going to have to drink a lot of water. That's not something I really do...drink enough water. I drink more now that I ever did...but "a lot" for me is not quite finishing one whole liter in a day...I'm not sure why it's easier for me to drink tons of pop than it is water, but it's something I've been working towards correcting.

Looks like we won't be traveling to Indiana in Sept. I am disappointed, but as Daniel pointed out we have a lot of things we need to take care of that we could use that kind of money for. We need some minor car repairs and perhaps a trip to the Dentist or Eye Doc. So now, I need to figure out what to do for Lily's birthday next month and who the heck is going to come! We only have a few baby friends here. I'm sure I'll come up with something!

I started working on another Christmas gift for one of Lily's cousins the other day. I'm excited about how it's coming along. I think the kiddo is really going to enjoy it!

I've continued reading through the PLL series. I'm currently on Book 4. I've had a difficult time finding time or staying awake to read lately. Hopefully that will pass and things will get and stay on track.

Well, that's all for now!

Much love.

What I could do with an extra $1,000/mo....

Okay Friends, so if you haven't heard or kept up lately I've made a pretty major life decision recently that I know is going to benefit me and my family! I have joined AdvoCare and I'm excited to share my experiences with you all!!! My husband just texted me to let me know my first package from AdvoCare has arrived with some awesome samples! I can't wait to get home and try it out. I'm ready to take my life and my family to a better standard of living in this crazy world!

One of the first tasks I've been given is to gather a team of people who also want to live a better, healthier, debt-free life! I've been contacting some friends and family and getting some pretty positive results so far. Please, please please let me know if you are interested or if you have a friend or family member that wants to have a better life for themselves! You can contact me on here, through facebook or directly through my link!

Ever feel like...

Ever feel like you have so much to do you can't decide if you want to do all of it, none of it or some of it? I do some days. I have a lot of crochet projects in process. Some just need to be finished up and mailed...so why not finish them up and mail them (get them out of my life--in a nice way)...I'm not sure. Maybe because I'm left with the tedious part...maybe because I'm spending my time a little bit differently lately...maybe because I'm afraid to see how much I have to finish before I can start the big crochet push for the Craft Show Season....I have a large order for a friend I started a while back. She needed it by a certain date, but that date dramatically changed (from like April to Oct) so I shelved that project for a while. I need to get it out of the bag, do a head count and see what else I need to make, but in the mean time I started more fun projects that I'm excited about doing, so it's like the feeling of 'work' versus 'fun'...I'd rather do the fun project right now...but then in the  mean time I got a hat order, well if you know me, hats don't take long...and I could finish that and collect my money before the end of the week if I just played my cards right...but then I feel guilty about putting off projects that just need to be finished and mailed....why not do those first? Ahhhh.....I need to make a list of everything and really and truly rank it so that it's fair...I mean one blanket is for an older relative who is talking about how much time she may or may not have left, seems like she should get cuts in the line over someone else, right?!

In the mean time...I need to like deep clean my house. Really I need to just clean-clean all of the floors. I'm so bad about that. I'd also like to de-clutter everything again, but who has time for that?! How does all this stuff just pile up? It just seems to keep showing up and I'm like how long have you been sitting there, dude?!

I'm a more positive note, I'm excited about this new business venture. I really have some good hopes and ideas for what I'd like to see happen. I just have to be patient and let it flow. I don't think this is the kind of thing that can be or should be forced. I don't want to push something on someone because I don't want anyone to do that to me either...Dear Universe, send the right people my way. I promise I'll do my part if you, Universe, do yours! :)  Here's that link again if you are interested in helping me expand, grow and pay off my student loans!

I had a nice evening with Lily last night. She's taken to throwing just about anything she can get her hands on, so we're working on that. She was so excited when Daddy got home last night. I love the way her face lights up when she realizes he's home. She went to bed pretty much on time and without any major problems (we rarely have bedtime problems though). Dan and I hung out for a bit last night on the couch, discussed our days, etc. Then all of a sudden it was bedtime and then time to get up and do it all again. I managed to read a few more pages of PLL Book 3. I'm enjoying the differences between the books and the shows! If you're interested, here's a great deal on Book 3:

All types of changes!

Well, on top of starting to blog again after years of nothingness...I've also started a new side gig. I'm now an AdvoCare Rep. A friend from HS contacted me about it and after several conversations and me doubting just about everything there was, I decided to try it. I'm scare I'm going to fail, but I'm also scared it's going to work...and who gets scared about things working? This girl.

I don't have all the details and everything in place yet...but I'm working on it. Here's the link if you want to check it out!  www.AdvoCare.com/150737701

In other news...I had a pretty decent weekend. I got to sleep in until 8 am on Saturday before Daniel and Lily came to wake me up. Dan headed off to work and Lily and I settled in for the day. I got some cleaning done. Lily and I played and played. While she napped I crocheted, watched a movie, read part of a book and even took a nap. Not a bad day! Dan  came home from work and we all hung out together, watched some TV, played with Lily, had some yummy dinner and then Daniel and I watched a movie when Lily went to bed. We went to bed a little late, but not horribly. Sunday morning was kind of the same. Dan shuffled off to work. Lily and I played until she napped. I did more reading and less crocheting. Still got some cleaning done around the house and took a short nap. We had another nice dinner last night and played with Lily until bedtime.

I made some progress on a Christmas gift for my nephew. It's coming along nicely if I do say so myself!

So as you can see, I have a few road blocks, the yellowish ones are bales of hay, the tan is plowed fields, and then I've finished half of the pond. I'm still working on figuring out how large I would like this playmat to be. I also might need to make a few up for craft shows. They seem like they would be a hit with the little kiddos!

There are several different pieces that can be added and they can be sewn together really in any order, so the combinations are endless! It's also great because it's totally gender neutral.

I plan on make a few cars and trucks to go along with it. Who knows, I might come up with all types of fun things to add in...maybe some little animals or even a barn or something!!!

Oh! I finished book 2 of Pretty Little Liars! It was good and very different from the show at this point. I had just enough time to start book 3, but I'm  not that far into it yet. I'm excited for the show tomorrow and to get some more reading done today!

Book 1, Done!

Well, last night I got home a little after 6pm. I was so excited to see that my book order had arrived! I've been dying to get into them. It was a busy night playing with Lily, hanging out with Daniel and eating dinner, but I managed to find enough time between everything to start reading. Eventually, Lily started coloring and Dan sat down with his own book, so I sat down with mine. Realizing that these books are meant for Young Adults (which I am clearly not)...well it was a quick read. In fact, less than 24 hours after receiving the books in the mail I've already finished the first one. Now I've seen the TV show a lot, I'm definitely one to watch and rewatch because it's a fun show. The first book was basically the first episode of the show, just with a lot more details and some differences. It was a good read. I'm excited to get off work today so I can get home and start book 2! I think they are still on sale, and since these books go for $10-15 each new, it's a great deal if you are interested!

Tonight when I get home I'm going to be doing a conference call with an old friend about a Direct Sales type job that she does. I'm interested in trying it because everyone seems to talk about what great money there is to be made with the program, but I still have my reservations...especially because I'm not that great of a sales person and I'm not sure I know enough people who would be interested in the product. I'm going to at least keep an open mind and hear what they have to say before making a final decision. I'll also have to discuss it with Daniel since I know I'll have to put some money into it to get started....I think almost all programs are like that, so I know that's like the "market standard."

Excited to report that I got a hat order today. I met this gentleman in a Walmart nearly 5 years ago and every 6 months or so he calls me for a new hat. I'll have to put it on my ever expanding To-Do list! :)

Yarn Haul and other nonsense...

I went to my crochet group last night and hung out with the ladies. We had a very nice time with a lot of laughs. We're kinda a loud bunch. Afterwards I headed over to Joann's with my coupons and a gift card I'd been saving for the "right time," well I made out like a bandit in my opinion. The total after coupons was $47 something, after my gift card I only paid $27. Those big One Pounds are normally $9.99 each! This is going to be used for Christmas gifts and Craft Shows...so definitely money well spent!

If you are interested in a crocheted Christmas gift, be sure to send me a message on FB to Adventures in Yarnia. I'll be doing some craft shows again this year and I'm getting excited for them! I need to go through what I have left over from last year and start stocking up for this year.

My gift list is a little bit longer this year...Lily has some new cousins! I love the additions to the family. I wish we didn't all live so far away from each other. I'd love to be able to visit more. I'm trying to work out some ideas in my head for getting some of us together for some cousin-adventuring-fun! I'm trying to find a cost effective place that would be kind of in the middle for all of us that would be little-kid friendly. Probably won't have any sort of solid plans until next Summer, but it's on my mind.

My work chair is so hard...and everyday I think I'm going to grab an extra pillow to bring to work and everyday I forget...It's an office chair, but it's like there's no cushion...I kind of forget about it for a while, then my butt hurts. lol. I must have sat too much yesterday because I've only been here an hour and it's already like...time to get up and find something I can do standing.

I am excited to report that my books should be there when I get home! I'm wayyyy to excited for some young adult books, but I just can't seem to get enough of them! I read the one book that I have (Book 5) in like a day and a half. I'm really trying to get myself to read more again. One problem I encounter is having enough time...another is just being like calm enough to sit down and enjoy it. I think that's why I'm excited for these books, because I'm already into the show and I want to see what's different. It'll be like an alternate universe I suppose...and I love the idea of an alternate universe. This is one of the books I got on that great deal...which is still going on right now! You can't find them in stores this cheap, friends! (Well, maybe at McKay's, but that's a different story!)

I'm sure I'll have more to report once I get the books in and get some reading done! I do my best to stay excited about reading, but some of the things that interest me, well the books are a little bland in tone...so even though it's something I like or want to learn more about it's just not something I can get myself to sit down and do most days. Most days I am just too tired after working, driving, playing, eating and putting Miss Lily to bed. Once she goes down I have between an hour to an hour and a half to relax before I head to bed with my Hubby. I've got to start and master this habit better...they say when you really want to do something, you find a way. I guess I better keep trying things until I find something that works!

That's all for now!

Much love.

Can I just say how much I love the song Pompeii by Bastille...it just makes me heart smile! I can just feel history through the years flowing through me. And when I close my eyes...Everything else just melts away for a few minutes and I do feel like I've been here before...

Things like this peek my interest.

Wow. So I've never actually watched the video before. The black eyes thing kinda freaked me out a little bit...

a REAL actual update...

Hi Friends,

So much has changed in the past few years since I started writing this blog. I am still living in the same place, so as I looked back through the pictures and old posts it was fun for me to remember when all of the painting and house prepping was new and fun. Now I just want to get out of this house ASAP. I hate my landlady for various reasons I'd rather not discuss.

I also mentioned in my  mini update earlier that I have a daughter now. Her name is Lily and she's pretty awesome.

Daniel and I have both been working the same jobs for a few years now and working very hard to pay off debt (and not create new debt). There is a big push for us to pay of a car that's wrecked...pay off the debt that was caused by that car accident, and finally start working on those damn student loans.

I've continued to do Craft Shows in the Fall time with my side gig, Adventures in Yarnia. It's a lot of fun and I really enjoy it. Last year I ended up doing 5 shows, which was the most I had ever done. I'm hoping to go back to all of the same places this year and maybe find 1 or 2 new ones. It's fun to meet all the different people from around the community.

If you are interested in checking out Yarnia, please visit: www.facebook.com/adventuresinyarnia

I'm looking forward to the fall time as usual because that's when I'm part time at work. I get (usually) 2 days a week off to hang with my munchkin. It also gives me time to actually make stuff for those craft shows and just time to relax a little bit. I've been stashing away money like a squirrel since the beginning of the year to ease the paycheck pain of switching from 40 hr/wk to 24hr/wk. It's a hard change, but I think this year it will be easier than previous years.

Daniel is working hard all the time...sometimes 7 days a week between Waller and Houston (<--Weekend Gig). We are trying to do smarter things with our money now that we've arrived at our 30s....although I'm rounding the bases to 31 and I'm in total denial that I'm currently 30.

Speaking of being old, so my favorite show is Pretty Little Liars and I'm all but obsessed! Thankfully, my friend Sarah is just as obsessed (and just as old) as I am! While I love to watch it on TV, and rewatch it 1,000s times on Netflix and stalk the blogs and message boards I've just recently read one of the books the show is based on. I found a free copy of the 5th book. Now usually I would hate to start a series in the middle...but I know enough about the show that I felt pretty okay reading the book and being able to keep up. There are some pretty crazy differences between the show and the book, but that's cool and it keeps it interesting. I ended up ordering books 1-4 and 6-9 on....wait for it, wait for it....THRIFTBOOKS....I got 8, count'em 8 books for $24 with FREE shipping!

I seriously love this site. I love it more than Amazon. I love it so much I've become an affilate...so click this link, buy some books and help me pay off my student loans!

So, Sarah and I have known each other since like middle school. We reconnected a while back when she asked me to crochet her a blanket. Even though I live 8 hours away (approx 442 miles)...I've somehow managed to kinda teach her to crochet. So between PLL and crocheting, we're regular gossiping school girls. It's a lot of fun. I know she'll probably read this eventually, so I'm gonna say it. I think I'm more glad that we became friends when we got older than when we were younger. We give each other good perspective on things.

Anyways, I should probably get back to the daily grind. Also, I think it's going to storm. I love storms.

Much Love.

I'm still alive, I swear...

...I really suck at keeping up with a blog...or a journal, or a day planner or life in general really.

This is new:

You should all check it out and buy your books via this link!

I've been doing tons more crocheting. Please also visit me at www.facebook.com/adventuresinyarnia

Craft shows are coming up in a few months. I'm excited for that.

Also, since the last time I posted, I've had a baby...and she's 21 months old. LOL.

Much love.
